Hans Kotter, born in 1966 in Mühldorf am Inn, Bavaria, Germany, is a contemporary artist renowned for his innovative work with light and perception. His installations manipulate light and reflections to create immersive environments, challenging the boundaries between physical and virtual spaces. Often described as the "architect of luminal reality," Kotter's pieces fragment and reassemble light into ethereal sculptures that play with perception and spatial experience.

After studying at the Art Students League of New York from 1993 to 1994, Kotter furthered his education at the Media Design Academy in Munich between 2001 and 2003.
