Mathias Vef lives and works in Berlin, after having studied at the Royal College of Art in London in the class of Noam Toran and Anthony Dunne. His work was exhibited in shows in Berlin, London, New York, Sydney, and Kuala Lumpur and most recently in Brussels during an artist residency at Shame Gallery.

Since his first show in 1998, he is interested in the intersection of bodies and identities. In collaboration with a wide range of body workers, from ballet dancers and acrobats to sex workers,

he explores these embodiments through photography, video, painting with chemicals, and most recently using 3D-scans, artificial intelligence, and augmented reality.
