BLACKBIRD FLY

Blackbird Fly is an exploration of how artist Antoinette Cauley's move from Phoenix, Arizona to Berlin, Germany, during the Covid-19 pandemic is affecting her views on systemic racism, her home country, and her broader identity as an African-American woman which has transformed. The series, created over the course of two years, explores childhood trauma and psychological triggers related to abandonment, survival and over-independence in adolescence and their connection to time and place.
